Having the wind farm close to the village will save me money on my electric bill.Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
The surrounding villages to the proposed windfarm will not benefit from cheaper electricity for the process. Banks will trade the electircity on the energy market where you supplier will purchase it and pass on the bill as usual to you.
The village will get money from Banks for whatever it needs!Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
Banks have promised to setup a fund that it will contribute to on the per mega watt hour (MWhr) generated and will be available to all surrounding villages. An application will need to be made to withdraw from this fund and money is not guaranteed to be forth coming.
We have been told the wind farm will only be between 35 and 50dB loud which is the same as a quiet room.Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
As sound is measured in a logarithmic scale there is a huge difference between 35 and 50dB. But even if the sound was only 35dB, this is the equivelant of having a softly spoken person talking constantly 24 hours per day. The effect is compounded as more turbines are added to the farm so the cumulative effect of 8 turbines at 35dB could be as loud as a car traveling at 30mph within 100m of your house.
Wind farms produce green energy.Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
They produce CO2 free power in very small quantities and ONLY when the wind is blowing. They
would permanently ruin a large part of open countryside - definitely not green.

Wind farms help reduce the CO2 produced by the UK.Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
Very little, power stations reduce output when turbines are working, but must keep running (inefficiently) as they are the primary provider. No matter how many turbines are built not one power station will close.

Consider it like a car, on the motorway because you travel at a constant speed your fuel lasts longer than in a town where you have to slow down and speed up constantly.
